Long Time, No See

April 19, 2015

Reports of my disappearance have been greatly exaggerated. The lack of recent posts has largely been driven by the amount of research and writing I've had to complete for school. In fact, I've been posting for nearly four months, just on a different blog (school requirement).

I might move the posts at some point, but for now they're located at http://rschmadebeck.wordpress.com.

But that's school, what else have I been up to?

While I was on my #AbsurdPenthouseCruise [add link to posts from cruise] back in December, my company went through a restructure and my job responsibilities changed. I transitioned to an ecommerce role and was provided a larger team. I'm about three months into the new position, and while it's been a new challenge, it has certainly not left me feeling and loss of things to do or work on.

Well, back in February I went on a four-night cruise aboard my favorite Norwegian ship, the #Pearl. It was a music festival at sea, specifically Sail Across the Sun (#SATS) which is headlined by the artist Train, but included other great artists. I had a chance to hear Andy Grammer, Ingrid Michaelson, A Great Big World, Simplified, and more. Definitely a fun trip with a great friend aboard my favorite vacation transportation, with amazing food, music and a stop over in my home town of the Florida Keys. I captured more than 1,000 photos from the trip and several videos. Not nearly as creative as my last trip aboard the Pearl, but just as entertaining.

In March, my friend and I went in on a pair of season tickets to the brand new Orlando City Soccer Club. The games are a lot of fun and who knew Orlando was a soccer town? While still looking for our first win at home, the team has shown progress and I can't wait till we have our own stadium.

Also in March, my friends and I hosted an I Mustache You to Join us party. It was prohibition themed with plenty of mustaches, both real and fake, to go around. We had a blast, not just with the party, but in celebrating two great friends' birthdays.

Speaking of school, I'm actually wrapping my spring semester this week, which means I'm half way through the program. Hard to believe it was just over a year ago I got my acceptance letter and now I'm only a few classes from graduation. The program has been amazing, both in what I've learned and in validating what I already knew. It's also great to be a UF student, again.

Summer is right around the corner and it's already heating up in Central Florida. The cliche of time is marching on has never felt more true. I'm looking forward to some relaxing days at the beach, wrapping up a few more classes this year, and a new car very soon (long story for another day)

Here's to hopefully finding more time to keep this thing up-to-date.
