Wow, this is hard. Being one’s best self is challenging, at least for me. I am my own worst and hardest critic (see that there?). Therefore, putting my best self forward and not allowing emotions, passions, or knowledge is tough.
If life were easy, life would be dull. Additionally, if we are our best selves all of the time, how would we know when we or others aren’t?
Would I be proud of my words or actions? When looking back, was I my best self in that moment? I know I can’t be my best all of the time, but I can certainly learn from when I’m not to avoid the mistake of repeating.
Sometimes being your best self is simply being present; for a friend or family member. It can be both the easiest and most difficult to accomplish, depending on the moment.
Recall a time when you were at your best self. What can you learn from the moment or interaction that could be applied to the next time you’re not at your best?
