11. Antarctica

October 10, 2015

Reasons to Visit:

One of the first projects I got to work on was the development and launch of SeaWorld Orlando’s Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. With building and executing the marketing plan, I learned all about the continent, its mystery, the animals that call it home, and all the known ways that travel to this arid environment.

Must See:

  • Penguins: There are several species that call the continent of Antarctica home, and who doesn’t love penguins? With more than a half-dozen species including a the famous Emperor and the fun Rockhopper, it’s an animal lover’s dream.
  • I do enjoy a cruise, and what better way to see the icy realm than with a polar cruise? With a warm bed at night after a quick excursion to the shores each day, why not explore the extreme reaches of earth with a little class and style.
  • The ice forms and glaciers are astonishing and breathtaking. As a photographer, it’s an amazing opportunity to see not only a remote locale, but also a moment in time that’s lost to erosion and the changing climate.
  • We are all Antarcticans. Antarctica is a global piece of land that is recognized by more than 40 governments around the world. Each country’s citizens are considered part of the population of the continent. Did you know you may already be a citizen?
