I’m one of the few guys who likes to dance. That isn’t to say that I’m good at it, but I do enjoy it. Most of my friends barely tolerate dancing, but a few will join me out on the town if there’s a night club or DJ we know who will be spinning some good beats.
The phrase, while literal, is often metaphorical for a day or evening lost in the purity of experiencing the moment. Beyond the actual words, I find the meaning here is to lose yourself in something for which you enjoy. Whether actually a night out dancing, or connecting with a friend over coffee.
Get lost in the now. Enjoy the present for its gifts.
When was the last time you danced the night away or lost yourself in the joy of the day? Was it a hobby or activity? Were you alone, with a loved one, or others?
